Mileage176,310Service Date3/9/2026Services Performed- Engine codes: P0420 Catalyst system efficiency below threshold Bank 1 – history code. Engine oil is 1/2 qt low. Dip stick wasn't pushed in all the way. Either the customer left it out or blow-by pushed it out. Engine oil is very dark and about 1000 miles away from next oil change. Engine is direct injected, the oil is going to get darker faster than a port injected engine. No major oil leaks, a little seeping around the timing cover, nothing to justify the amount of oil loss that the customer is complaining about. Bottom of engine is dry, no drips. The only other place it can go is the combustion chamber and that would explain the cat efficiency code, the cat isn't meant to have burning oil run through it. Oil is either making it past the rings or the valve seals. Also checked PCV valve, appears to be ok.
- Brake fluid is dark. Serpentine belt looks old and dry.
